Marco A. Northland
Chief Executive Officer and Director
Marco Northland directs etrion’s growing worldwide operations. Prior to co-founding the company, Northland was responsible for establishing and overseeing European operations for SunPower Systems SA, a leading U.S. solar energy company. In the capacity, he secured commitments for several large-scale solar power plant projects in Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal. Mr. Northland earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical/biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in computer sciences from The George Washington University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Prior to SunPower, he held different executive positions in technology companies, including Chief Operating Officer for AT&T Latin America, Executive Vice President for FirstCom, and Director for Panamsat. He has led or co-led several start-ups, including Americatel, Retinagenix and FirstCom. |

Garrett Soden
Chief Financial Officer
Garrett Soden has been CFO of Etrion (formerly PetroFalcon Corporation) since 2006. Garrett started his career in the mergers and acquisitions group at Salomon Brothers in New York. Afterwards, he managed public and private equity investments in Eastern Europe and Silicon Valley. He then served in the White House as an energy policy analyst at the National Economic Council and was later Senior Policy Advisor for the U.S. Secretary of Energy. Prior to joining Etrion, he was an energy equity research analyst for Lehman Brothers in New York. Garrett holds a BSc honors degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Columbia Business School. |

Michael Sommer
Vice President Business Development
Michael Sommer has more than a decade of experience in the renewable energy field with a focus on wind and solar projects in Germany and Southern Europe. His expertise covers the entire project life cycle from site identification to financial structures to turnkey contracts. As a project manager at Bobikiewicz & Partner GmbH, he was responsible for the acquisition, structuring and negotiations for wind projects with an overall investment volume of 150 million euro. As a senior consultant for U.S.-based PowerLight Corporation, Mr. Sommer led the company’s market introduction in Europe, acquiring 24 MW of solar projects, and arranging financial structures with financiers. The company’s German and Portuguese projects were the world’s largest PV projects at the time of construction in 2004 and 2006. Prior to joining etrion, Sommer was managing director of SES Sustainable Energy Solutions AG, a Swiss company that filed for a large photovoltaic and solar thermal portfolio in Greece. Mr. Sommer earned a graduate degree in environmental management and economics from the University of Münster. |

Giovanni Diana
General Manager, Italy
Giovanni Diana has more than 20 years of experience leading industrial projects in Italy in different sectors, including construction, energy, commodities, automobile manufacturing and project finance. His recent experience includes setting up local branches and growing domestic operations in Italy for two large multinational companies, Cemex and AES, where he was responsible for the acquisition and development of greenfield plants in the cement and power generation sectors. He was also recently a consultant to 9REN, the former Gamesa Solar, acquired by First Reserve Corporation, where he acted as CFO for the Italian renewable energy business. Giovanni has an MBA from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Rome, La Sapienza. |

Fernando Alvarez-Bolado
Vice President Engineering and Construction
Fernando Alvarez-Bolado has more than 10 years of experience in the construction and engineering of wind and solar power projects. As a Senior Project Manager for SunPower Systems, Fernando was responsible for the construction of solar parks totaling over 50 MW in Spain and 25 MW in Italy. At Vestas Wind Systems, he was responsible for the construction of wind parks totaling over 250 MW in Spain. Fernando has completed the PDD (Management Development Program) at IESE Business School in Madrid and has an electrical engineering degree from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales at the University of Valladolid in Spain. |
